O Children

O Children

Festival Overview

O Children are four black-clad London post-punkers who are already getting sick of the inevitable Joy Division comparisons, and in fact there's more to them than their Manchester gloom-punk influences. Turning out atmospheric, gothic pop with 80s early-electro touches that give their sound a quirky, danceable appeal, they've been hotly tipped as one of the bands to watch in 2009 and 2010. Their live reputation precedes them, and their musical ambitions are already bigger than the east London scenester horizons they first set themselves, as proven by a couple of rocking performances at the Ray-Ban Rooms.

'Their past and present youth scene connections, and great taste in clothes, belie a sprawling frame of reference and a natural aptitude for songwriting' — Loud & Quiet
