The Home-Grown to Hollywood project was the brain-child of and EMI Music, through their Capitol Records label, to give an opportunity to a Middle East based musicians to go to Capitol Records in Los Angeles. The concept was simple – musicians were asked to prove themselves on’s platform Makshoof Music to show that they could market themselves over a period of three months. The short-list of artists (from over 110 that entered from all over the Middle East) were then sent to EMI. From there a winner was chosen, based on a number of factors including song-writing, marketing and understanding of their art. From here, Lazzy Lung from Beirut won the opportunity and now will be flying to Los Angeles, performing at Capitol Records.
